Hey I’m In Cincinnati And The Bengals Have Some Troubled Players!
Just stepped off a small plane in Ohio as I begin my college football scouting trip and the Bengals are certainly raising the eyebrows of the locals in Cincinnati.
Why else would owner Mike Brown issue a public statement after the Bengals drafted former Virginia linebacker Ahmad Brooks? Second-year receiver Chris Henry and 2006 draft picks Frostee Rucker and A.J. Nicholson have been charged with criminal offenses in recent months. When they drafted them the Bengals were aware that all three got into trouble during their college careers.
Now Brooks is the talk of the town as he was booted off his college team by former Jets coach Al Groh and the chemistry of the team is coming into question. Coach Marvin Lewis has done an exceptional job but is coming under scrutiny for turning what seems like a blind eye to the situation.
The Miami Herald, citing two sources reported last month that Groh kicked Brooks (6-4, 259 pounds) out of the program for repeated drug test failures.
Linebackers coach Ricky Hunley attended Brooks’ pre-draft workout and was selected to conduct the session. Hunley was an assistant coach at the University of Florida in 2001 and is familiar with Brooks from those days as a potential recruit.
Wide receiver Chris Henry has been arrested four times since December on charges ranging from marijuana possession in Covington to felony gun charges in Florida. Defensive end Frostee Rucker, the team’s third-round pick in April’s regular draft, is facing spousal abuse and vandalism charges in Los Angeles. Fifth-round pick A.J. Nicholson was arrested in May in Tallahassee, Fla., on theft charges. The linebacker had been previously sent home by Florida State before getting to play in January’s Orange Bowl game for violating team rules.
Brooks, whose father, Perry, was a defensive tackle in the NFL with Washington from 1978-84, recorded 117 tackles as a freshman in 2003 to lead Virginia and he earned All-America honors as a sophomore with a season that included 90 tackles, eight sacks, 10 tackles for loss, two interceptions and 11 quarterback pressures.
His draft stock took a hit last season when he missed five games due to knee, ankle and back injuries. Brooks’ issues off of the field also hurt his draft status. He was arrested on marijuana possession charges in 2003 (he has completed a diversion program) to go along with the allegations of his failed drug tests last year. Greg Williams, Brooks’ agent, presented information to those in attendance at the player’s June workout that Brooks had passed drug tests the past two months.
Brian Simmons, David Pollack and Odell Thurman (last year’s top two draft picks) head up the Bengals pre-training camp depth chart as linebacker. Thurman missed last month’s mini-camp due to undisclosed personal reasons. Among the potential backups, only Hannibal Navies and Marcus Wilkins have more than three seasons of experience. Landon Johnson, a third-year player, has started 21 games and has shown the versatility to play all three positions.

Here is the story:
Tragedy Strikes At Greenville Parade
By Bob Evans
VION&HR
Everything was going great at the 22nd Annual Country Christmas Parade. The kids both young and older were having a great time and enjoying all the activities. The streets were lined with spectators and the city park was full of vendors and Country Christmas participants. Then towards the end of the parade, something went all wrong. Tragedy hit hard on one of the riders on horseback. One of the horses spooked and threw its rider onto the pavement. Leila Lindsey of High Springs, Florida was thrown from her horse “Blessing” with the horse ending up stepping on her chest and left hand. EMS medical personnel responded while Lindsey’s husband Ellis Lindsey tended to his fallen wife.
Leila Lindsey was carried by ambulance to an area where Life flight could transfer her to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital to have her injuries cared for. She suffered cuts to her head, bruises on several parts of her body and some broken bones in her left hand. She was put on life support and transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. After several tests and CT scans, it was determined by TMH specialists that she suffered no permanent life threatening injuries and she was kept overnight at the hospital for observation and other tests run the next morning. Sunday afternoon December 9th, Lindsey was discharged from the hospital to go home.
Members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Posse rounded up the loose horse and took it back to the starting point of the parade so it could be loaded on a horse trailer and taken to Emerald Acres Paso Fino Ranch north of Greenville. There relatives of the Lindsey family came up to the ranch Saturday evening and transported all of their horses back home to High Springs, Florida.
A special bank account has been set up at Capital City Bank 660 Northeast Santa Fe, High Springs, Florida 32643 to help the family with medical expenses incurred from the accident. If you would like to donate anything to help the family make your checks out to Leila Lindsey and mail them to the bank at the above address.
No one really knows what happened, but it is believed that someone fired a BB gun and struck the horse in the neck. No one has been identified as being responsible, but the Madison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. At present no charges have been filed against anyone and the Sheriff’s Department is asking everyone who was in the area where the incident took place that if they have any information to call the Sheriff’s Department.
What makes this story so unusual is Lindsey was riding a breed of horse that is known worldwide as a people friendly horse. It’s reputation as being the “Rolls Royce” or the “Cadillac” of the horse world and the smoothest riding horse in the world with hardly any bad traits, adds to the theory that someone deliberately spooked the horse. Lindsey was competing in an annual event in the Country Christmas Parade called “Pasos On Parade”. For the past 2 years she and her horse “Blessing” have won the title as being the “Best of the Best” in the competition at Greenville. This proves that both her and the horse and rider were experienced in participating in parades. Both Lindsey and “Blessing” have competed for the past 5 years in the event at Greenville and she has ridden the horse in dozens more parades across the State of Florida without having any problems what-so-ever with the horse.
If you would like to send get well cards or letters to Leila Lindsey or her family you can just address and mail them to (Leila Lindsey – P. O. Box 1761 – High Springs, Florida 32655.)

I live in Fl and I am currently a Jr(I am starting to think about college now). I hate living here and My family stresses me out so much! I believe when I move out, I will be less stressed out.
But, The thing is I have 2 options. I either move to New york or Tallahassee.

On the other hand, If I stay in Fl, And I keep my grades up I have a chance of getting a scholarship to attend any Florida school. And, My choice would be moving to Tallahassee. But, I would have to find my own apartment and stuff like that.
What do you think I should do?

Florida, When to Go and Some Rules
Most parts of Florida are warm and sunny year-round.
Evenings can get chilly in winter, so bring a sweater or jacket if you’re visiting then.
You may want to avoid the summer months in the extreme south, which can be very hot and humid. Hurricane season runs from June through October and is carefully monitored by the National Hurricane Center
in Miami.

Why Are Some People So Upset About Obama Education Speech?
schools all over the country didn’t show the speech even though the majority of students wanted to see it. Parents in places like texas and Tallahassee Florida protested. Why so much hate? Why is there so much prejudice? There was nothing wrong in his speech, even his original speech there was nothing wrong of offensive in it. It was only a speech to motivate kids to do better in school, what is wrong with that? The “How can you help the president” question was blown way out of proportion and I saw it as how can you help the president make the USA it a better country and expecting recycling or treating people with tolerance kind of answers. and whats with this hitler crap? For someone who has two daughters,a wife and a poodle like dog he doesn’t seem all that hateful me.Some people act like he killed thousands of people of enslaved an entire race or something…
Do you people who believes those things honestly think Obama is going to destroy the country or something? If so,what brings you to that conclusion? What proof or how do you know Obama so well?.
